Lil Pick Up Recalls Youth All-Terrain Vehicles For Injury Hazards

ATV_Stuck

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced the recall of E-Bully Youth All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). According to the recall, the children’s ATVs fail to comply with the requirements of the federal mandatory ATV safety standard. The handlebars pose a laceration hazard if the child rider’s body or head impacts the handlebars at a high rate of speed. In addition, the parking brakes fail to hold, posing a collision hazard. ATVs that fail to meet the mandatory safety requirements pose a risk of serious injury or death, according to the CPSC.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled ATVs and contact Lil Pick Up for a free repair from an authorized repair shop. Although no injuries have been reported, the CPSC remains concerned about the failure to follow federal regulations on ATVs.

The ATVs were sold by multiple online retailers including Amazon.com, Ebay.com, Seangles.com among other websites from September 2023 through October 2024 for around $1,000. No injuries have yet to be reported.

Understanding youth ATV lawsuits

In recent years, a growing number of ATVs have been marketed toward children as young as 1 year old. However, many of these youth ATVs lack mandatory safety features. The most common failure to implement a maximum speed limit, posing a risk of high-speed crashes that can cause serious injury or death.

If a child is injured while riding one of these ATVs, it’s fair to ask whether or not the company that manufactured the ATV is responsible or not. In many cases, these companies fail to comply with mandatory federal safety regulations, posing a serious hazard to the public.

Droyd Fury Youth ATVs recalled for injury hazard

As recently as October 2024, Reyhee Group recalled about 156 Droyd Fury Youth ATVs intended for children 6 years and older. According to the CPSC, the handlebars pose a laceration hazard if the child rider’s body strikes the handle bars at a high speed. Sound familiar? That’s because it is the exact same allegation levied against Lil Pick Up. The recall allowed customers to get a free repair kit, including a replacement handlebar cover and new warning labels.

EGL Motors recalls more youth ATVs

In April 2023, EGL Motor initiated a recall of about 4,000 ACE Youth ATVs for several violations of federal safety rules, which could result in a high-speed crash or other serious accidents.

Rosso Motors recalls youth ATVs

In December of 2022, Rosso Motors recalled around 2,800 youth ATVs in the U.S. due to violations of federal safety standards. These vehicles were sold from June 2019 to April 2021 for between $650 and $925.
