Zwilling Electric Kettles Recalled After Reports Of Burn Injuries

Kettle

Americans depend on kitchen appliances daily, often not thinking that simple tasks might turn harmful. Yet, a recent recall of Zwilling Enfinigy electric kettles shows just how risky malfunctioning home products can be. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission pulled more than 113,000 electric kettles because they could spill hot liquid unexpectedly, causing burns. This led to one bad burn case, along with reports that the kettles had loose or detached handles.

Why were the kettles recalled?

The CPSC says that some recalled Zwillig Enfinigy electric kettles might have a serious problem; the handle could come loose or even fall off when you’re using them. If that happens while the kettle is full of boiling water, the user could lose control of the kettle, spilling scalding liquid on themselves.

Regulators say that Zwilling got 163 complaints concerning the kettle. A lot of people got burned, including some who sustained second-degree burns.

The kettles were available at big stores like HomeGoods, as well as online from places like Amazon or Zwilling’s site. They were sold from January 2024 to March 2026.

Burn injuries and product liability

Burn injuries can cause serious physical pain, lasting scars, emotional distress, and huge medical bills. If these injuries come from a faulty product, there might be a way to recover damages.

In Florida, companies could be on the hook if their products harm people. You could file something called a product liability claim against the manufacturer. Usually, this means proving one of three things:

First, the product had a bad design. Second, mistakes made it risky during manufacturing. Lastly, the danger wasn’t properly warned on the package.

Take the recalled Zwilling kettles, for instance. It’s possible the problem lies with how they were built or designed. And if the handles aren’t sturdy enough for regular use, those kettles clearly put users in danger. So folks who got burned might say the company is accountable for their injuries.

What consumers should do next

If you have one of the recalled Zwilling Enfinigy electric kettles, you should stop using it altogether. Instead, reach out to Zwilling for help getting a refund or a new kettle. If you got hurt by the product, keep everything, including the kettle, your medical records, photos of your injuries, and proof of purchase. If you plan on filing a product liability case, these will become very important later on.

Key takeaways

Defective kitchen appliances can seriously harm people in a matter of seconds. The recent recall of over 113,000 Zwilling electric kettles for possible burn hazards shows how big the risk can be from small defects. Reports of handle detachment and actual injuries highlight major worries about product safety and manufacturer accountability.

If you get hurt because of a faulty appliance, you might be able to get compensated for medical costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Talking to a knowledgeable Florida product liability lawyer can help you figure out what you’re entitled to.
