Florida Catastrophic Injury Attorney

Catastrophic injuries such as traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injuries also create challenges and obstacles for individuals and families above and beyond the obvious pain and suffering associated with the injuries themselves. An experienced Florida catastrophic injury attorney must account for and strategically prepare for the presentation of different types of economic loss associated with catastrophic injuries. These losses include medical bills which may sometimes be staggering, lost wages, life care needs such as nursing care, vocational rehabilitation, occupational rehabilitation or speech therapy and other expenses which may arise as a result of catastrophic injuries. Transportation, tutoring, relearning skills, and physical therapy all cost money and must be considered and strategically incorporated into claims for catastrophically injured persons.

At Halpern Santos & Pinkert, P.A. we have handled a broad spectrum of catastrophic injury cases including dozens of wrongful death, traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury cases. In a recent case we were honored to represent a young man who suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of a rollover event. This young man was a unique standout individual who was valedictorian of his high school class, scholar athlete, and voted most likely to succeed. He graduated from an Ivy League College with a degree in Biomechanical Engineering. This case was successfully resolved in a manner which will allow for all of the future life care needs of this stellar young man who has challenges associated with quadriplegia and the inability to speak, even though he has regained much of his memory and his incredible mental gifts.

At the present time our firm is representing the families of five individuals who were killed, and three other individual who were injured, in a case where a vehicle flipped over into a canal. Part of the claim has been settled with a motor vehicle manufacturer, but the claim is ongoing against a tire manufacturer and other Defendants associated with a faulty roadway design.

These types of catastrophic cases are complex and involve every sophisticated issue in the area of personal injury associated with liability and damages.
